For both the cupcakes I used a spoon to spread the frosting on top. Once you get it to the edge, it will stay in place for the most part. It's not like a glaze where it will continue to run.
For the cake I used a large spoon and spread the frosting on top of the cake. I had to spread the frosting over the edges. It wouldn't go over on it's own. I was worried it would keep dripping to the bottom of the cake and pool on the plate, but it only continued to drip a short ways and stopped. I was beyond thrilled when that happened!
Click here to learn how to make the edible moss and apply it to the cupcakes! I just used my fingers to sprinkle the moss on top of the cake. Then I topped it with a nest and a blue bird candle. So little effort for such an amazingly cute cake!!
