When I was asked to create a party for a male 60th birthday party, my mind instantly thought of three things: Wood, Metal & Glass.
Food Table Center Piece: I used two large barrels, one filled with grass, one with peanuts. I added some green burlap to the to table to add some color.
Food Table: Wooden Crates to hold the chips and rolls, wooden and glass bowls for the sides.
Menu: Pulled Pork, Mashed Potatos, Chicken Pasta Salad, Broccoli Salad, Spinach & Mushroom Salad, 3 Bean Salad & Cowboy Caviar.
Drinks:
The party was held in the most amazing yard! Check out the entrance to the party:
Center Pieces:
I created three "stations" in addition to the food table. I like to have something for the guests to do while they visit. I think this creates opportunity for conversation and also encourages people to relax and stay awhile. The three stations were: Home Movies, Trifle Bar & Smore's fire pit.
Home Movie Station: The daughter of the birthday boy created a slide show of memories put to music. It was playing on a loop during the party. Projected against the barn.
Trifle Bar:
Smore's Station: This turned out to be a big hit!
This party was so fun to put together! I loved watching the guests go around the yard participating in everything. This was planned as a surprise party and surprised he was! It was the first time I've done a party for someone else at their own home. Thank you Joanne for asking me to do this! I can't wait to do it again.
The Party after the Sun went down. It was amazing.
